Onderwerp: Werkt de 'IS' Statement voor .nl domeinen nog?

Ik heb een website waar ik af en toe bij een website die ik voor een klant maak, een webhosting pakket afsluit. Nou ilde ik op mijn Joomla site dus de mogelijkheid in voegen om .nl domeinen te controleren. Maar de 15 keer die je maar mag opvragen, breekt continu op. Heeft iemand een idee of de "IS" domain.nl statement nog enigzins onbeperkt werkt? De code die ik nu gebruik is:

De is functie van de whois van SIDN werkt nog steeds en de limiet is hoger dan 15 (hoe hoog die is weet ik zo niet).

Kans is vrij groot dat een domeinnaam niet bestaat als geen nameservers zijn toegewezen, controleer daarop tijdens het checken van domein (is ook sneller) en bij het werkelijk registreren kan je controleren of de domeinnaam daadwerkelijk vrij is. Zo omzeil je whois limieten. Wellicht kan je ook een heel ipv6 blok gebruiken voor onbeperkte whois requests.

Vanaf CLI (wellicht iiieeeeetjes sneller, maar voor tig domeinen per dag geen verschil te merken):

indien je uberhaupt iets terug krijgt - is de domeinnaam in de DNS aanwezig en groot kans dat ie ook geregistreerd is.

Echter, iedereen kan elke domein in de DNS zetten - zonder dat ie daadwerkelijk geregistreerd is - en (nog erger) - domein kan wel geregistreerd zijn maar (voor welke reden dan ook) verwijderd uit de DNS;
m.a.w. het is minst betrouwbaar manier om te controleren of een domeinnaam bestaat...

IS fuctie is dan toch betrouwbaarder.

En dan voor de .be kan je als niet register ook de DAS functie op poort 4343 aanroepen als ik het correct heb?

Niets met DNS gaan doen.. slaat nergens op. Wie dat ooit bedacht heeft is mij een raadsel. Gewoon de is functie gebruiken of een API van een reseller.

Dat ben ik niet met je eens; wat ook wel eens wordt gedaan is de domeinnaam intypen in de browser om te kijken of deze bestaat; dat lijkt me dan toch nog wel iets minder secuur om na te gaan of een domeinnaam bestaat of niet?

Ja zo kun je nog wel tien andere methodes verzinnen die nog minder betrouwbaar zijn... zoals in de Gouden Gids kijken of het domein in gebruik is.

@dreamhost - je browser doet idem dito - DNS opzoeken Dus het is net zo betrouwbaar.
En ik ben er van uit gegaan van de programmeer technische oplossingen, iets wat je met bijvoorbeeld PHP kan doen

@t.bloo: Het gaat hier om technieken die ook daadwerkelijk door mensen worden toegepast om te controleren of een domeinnaam vrij is. Kijken in de Gouden Gids heb ik alleen jou horen doen.
@SmilieBG: Sommige domeinnamen hebben wel DNS servers ingesteld staan, maar worden alleen gebruikt voor e-mail verkeer. De test op DNS servers zal dan aangeven dat de domeinnaam geregistreerd is, maar de browsertest zal aangeven dat dat niet zo is. Vandaar dat deze laatste onbetrouwbaarder is.
