Phoenix, AZ, April 9, 2015 – PhoenixNAP®, a global IT services provider offering cloud, dedicated server, colocation, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technology solutions, announced today the second floor of its flagship Phoenix, Arizona data center has opened and is available to support the infrastructure needs of businesses worldwide.
“The opening of data center space on the second floor of our Phoenix facility comes as we are seeing increased demand for IT services across the board from just about every part of the globe,” said Ian McClarty, president of phoenixNAP. “It was always part of our plan to expand our Phoenix operations and grow the business, but only when demand warranted it, and when it made sense to do so from a strategic and financial standpoint. We are excited that we can continue to help businesses procure space in our Phoenix facility for their IT infrastructure.”
Employing a just-in-time approach to expansion, phoenixNAP currently has 15,000 square feet of data center space fully built out on the second floor. An additional 35,000 square feet is ready to be completed without any lengthy delays.
“The modular method which we have applied to the construction of the second floor means we can scale it up quickly,” added Tom Busha, director of data center operations for phoenixNAP. “All of the supporting cooling and power lines are in place and the space for additional chiller plants or generators is pre-stubbed for quick installation of any additional equipment. This translates into rapid build out and completion of any additional data center floor space as needed.”
Customers are already moving into the new second floor space, and while more are lining up, there will still be space remaining.
A couple of customers are either on the second floor now or moving in shortly,” said Dave Brimley, managing vice president of sales for phoenixNAP. “However, we have room remaining and of course, we also have options in our Ashburn and Amsterdam data center locations.”
PhoenixNAP is a PCI DSS Validated Service Provider and its flagship facility is SOC Type 1 and SOC Type 2 audited.
