Post Phoenix NAP Now Offering Latest Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-26xx v3 family

New Intel Xeon E5-26xx v3 family-based bare metal servers available in the U.S. and The Netherlands

    Phoenix, AZ, September 8, 2014
Phoenix NAP®, a global IT services provider offering cloud and bare metal servers, colocation, and enterprise Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technology solutions, announced today new bare metal server options that feature the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 product family. The highly anticipated processors – also known as Grantley - utilize the Haswell-EP microarchitecture for high efficiency computing.
Available within Supermicro X10 server platforms, Phoenix NAP customers can select from new Xeon E5-2600 v3 processor-based models leveraging a 3U 8-node MicroCloud, a 4U 4-node FatTwin™, or a 1U Data Center Optimized (DCO) SuperServer®.

“Supermicro’s new generation X10 Green Computing solutions are designed to take maximum advantage of the performance and features available in the latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 family,” said Wally Liaw, Sr. Vice President of Sales at Supermicro. “Collaborative efforts with Phoenix NAP enable rapid deployment of our new X10 MicroCloud, FatTwin and DCO SuperServer platforms to deliver their global customers a critical time-to-market advantage. With Supermicro’s Green Computing architecture, customers are now empowered with the most advanced computing solutions that deliver greater performance with even higher energy efficiency.”

The Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 product family provides significant performance increases compared to the previous generation, and support DDR4 RAM to greatly improve overall performance. Just released by Intel, the new processors are already garnering significant demand.

“Compute demands continue to increase and the new Xeon E5-2600 v3 product family is designed to deliver an incredible combination of leading performance, built-in capabilities and cost-effectiveness,” said Eoin McConnell, Xeon E5 family product line director, Data Center Group, Intel. “We’re pleased to be working with server companies and data center services providers such as Supermicro and Phoenix NAP to bring the latest technologies to the market.”

The new Xeon E5-2609 v3, E5-2620 v3, E5-2650 v3, and E5-2670 v3 servers are available out of any of Phoenix NAP’s three global locations. The addition of the new models is a direct result of increased customer demand and the growing need online businesses have for highly efficient, high performance servers.
“As online business continues to evolve, big data requirements are becoming more of a factor,” said William Bell, VP of product development for Phoenix NAP. “The addition of these high-end processors helps address the need to push more and more data efficiently, ultimately helping business’ serve their own customers.”
