Hello newsgroup,

I have the following situation I wish to realise:

I have multiple websites on multiple servers. (not all of them apache)
I wish to combine them onto one 'virtual' website wich I can show my users.
depending on the url a user wants the request is forwarded to one of those
servers.
I'm using mod_ssl with client certification. Using FakeBasicAuth to get some
sort of username.

The servers containing the actual (sub)websites are not directly connected
to the internet and are thus not directly reachable.
The need a username to be able to figure out what they will serve.

I connected the tomcat using mod_jk, but this forced me to handle the whole
certificate business on tomcat level which is not desirable.
With FakeBasicAuth and ExportCertData I was able to authenticate the user on
the central apache macine (Apache A), but not on another server (Apache B)

So my question basically is: how do I configure this?
specifically
* How do I route the de-crypted requests from A to any of the other servers
and back
* How do I ensure that the underlying servers know from who the requests
come (send username with the request or ?)

Anyone have a similar setup?
