Japanese operator J:COM plans to roll out an internet service from April
2007 offering download speeds of up to 160 Mbps and upload at up to 10
Mbps. The service will run over the company's hybrid fibre and coax
network, starting in the Kansai Minami Osaka and Izumi, Izumi Ohtsu areas.
J:Com will charge JPY 6,000 per month, excluding tax but including the
modem user fee.


Omgerekend is 6000 Yen ongeveer 40 EURO.

Dat kan hier wel.. Ga jij de kosten voor de aanleg van fiber naar alle
huizen betalen? Want dat is het grootste probleem, daar ligt het er
'toevallig' (vast met steun van de overheid) al. Bovendien gaat het maar om
een paar gebieden, niet om een heel land.

En dan hebben ze het nog over 'up to' 160Mbps. Dan weet ik genoeg

Fiber aan telefoonpalen knopen is makkelijker dan in de grond stoppen.

Minami is een klein uitgaansgebiedje, 8 bij 10 straten groot, met veel
hotels en kroegen enzo. Izumi is een iets groter maar vrijwel onbewoond
industriegebied.

Knoop ze dan aan telefoonpalen in plaats van dat je ze in de grond stopt.

Die hebben ze daar wel staan, maar wij niet (nihil) hier in Nederland.
