Wat is er gebeurd met de .uk.co subdomein-registratie ??

Ik kan de homepage van uk.co niet bereiken, maar ik zie dat er nog wel enkele plaatsen zijn waar de subdomeinen.uk.co nog kunnen geregistreerd worden...

UK.CO SUBDOMAIN

We are the operators and administrators of the .co top level domain name. Your registrar (the person from whom you obtained your uk.co domain name) Net Registrar uk.co Limited ("Net Registrar") was, until the end of 16 February 2003, the operator of uk.co sub-domains under a contract with us.

Our contract with Net Registrar terminated at the end of 16 February 2003.

Since December 2002, we had offered to enter into a new arrangement with Net Registrar in order to safeguard your uk.co registrations with them for a short period of time to allow you sufficient time to transition to alternative domain names. Net Registrar failed to agree the terms of that new arrangement. This means that as a result of our agreement with Net Registrar having terminated, Net Registrar is no longer entitled to operate uk.co sub-domains and therefore Net Registrar is not entitled to permit you to use the uk.co domain names that you had registered with them.

The effect of this is that the uk.co domain names you had registered with Net Registrar no longer work with effect from the end of 16 February 2003.

A Council of State decision in Colombia dated 12 July 2002 ordered the Minister of Communications in Colombia to take over the administration of .co top level domain names by no later than 31 December 2003. The Minister may do this at any time. We informed Net Registrar of this position some months ago and as mentioned above, sought to agree a new arrangement with Net Registrar to facilitate the transition by Net Registrar's customers to new domain names. Net Registrar did not agree to the terms of this new arrangement.
