However some facts are intriguing.

From Easynet the route goes thru level3 and gets lost.
From #shell the route seems to reach msn, but loginnet.passport.com is unresponsive.

As the trace goes clearly outside of your providers place, the fault
must be on the other side. However M$ stops the trace on their side, so
the trace does NOT clearly state that the site is down, only that it can
not be traced. Try to suft to http://www.houghi.org (You will be
transferd to an other site) the tray to trace or to ping it.

To test it, open a terminal or doswindow and type
'telnet www.hotmail.com 80' You will the see that it is connected or
you will get other info.

The site hotmail is up and running. Just check your settings and see if
you can get to other sites or to 64.4.32.7, 64.4.33.7 and 64.4.52.7

I had an excellent other source for launching such tests, but the site is now stripped

Nope. This means probs on THEIR side. Not at hotmail or MSN but on
passport.net (I hope they did not forget to pay Internic like the last
time. hotmail went down because they forgot to pay 70USD or the like.

eerder een probleem met msn clients mss, ik draai hier miranda IM en ik
ben altijd online geweest op msn, zelfs zitten chatten op de uren dat
iedereen beweert offline geweest te zijn (in mijn chatlogs: tss 22.20 -
22.40 en van 23.20 tot 23.55u ofzo) de andere kant was een msn client,
maar die gast beweert wel dat ie honderd keer geprobeerd heeft te
reconnecten eer ie online geraakt is
Nuja daarom gebruik ik dus niet enkel msn, maar ook nog steeds icq en
jabber protocollen

Er waren blijkbaar problemen met het connecteren naar de server toe,
in die zin dat mensen die reeds online waren geen problemen
ondervonden. Mensen die probeerden online te komen, of mensen die
online waren maar wilden reconnecten, die hadden problemen. Had verder
niks met de clients te maken.

It Is either M$ it self or by request from M$ that the trace is blocked.
