Greets,

[english version below]

Hier in Deutschland bietet z.B. Arcor ein Paket aus ISDN (mit 3
Rufnummern) und echter DSL-Flatrate (2000 down / 256 up) f=FCr 40 Euro
an.

Gibt es in Belgien etwas vergleichbares?

Gruss und Dank f=FCr Antwort,
Chris

Hello,

i will shortly move to Belgium and i am searching for a good connection
to the internet. As i want to use VoiceOverIP, i need a true flatrate
(or at least 40 GB of volume per month). What is the cheapest way to
achieve this?

Thanks a lot,
Chris

Hello,

This may help you :
Approx. amount for about 30Gb/month:
EDPNet ADSL Go http://www.edpnet.be/ (+/- 450 EUR/jaar)
Etiego ADSL Pro http://www.etiego.be/ (+/- 510 EUR/jaar)
SurfADSL Basic http://www.surfadsl.be/ (+/- 520 EUR/jaar)
EDPNet ADSL Plus http://www.edpnet.be/ (+/- 570 EUR/jaar)

Avoid Belgacom very expensive, and Scarlet too often technical problems.
EDPNet seems to give good service and quality.

I am very please with Evonet. Never had a bill from them because I had a
too high usage. I personally look more at quality then I am looking at
price.

If you go to Leuven or a part of Brussels where you can get Chello.be
(internet over UPC TV cable), it's a good choice if you require high
data transport volume.

Else I'd say try evonet.be or skynet.be (Belgacom), both offer ADSL.
People might claim skynet/belgacom is expensive - but they have a very
stable and very fast network. Their pop/smtp server aren't too good, but
if you don't plan to use their mailbox skynet/belgacom is a very
fast/stable choice. Evonet is a smaller independant provider, but they
are probably the best ADSL provider in the country, they are about as
expensive as skynet/belgacom (the largest ADSL provider of the country)
though.
Evonet has data transfer limits, but so far they don't really check it
('fair use' ... so don't exaggerate).

Belgacom(.be) has "Belgacom ADSL Plus" that includes 30gb/month and you
can buy additional traffic at 5gb/5eur. Speed is 4.4mbps/256kbps.

Note that ADSL in belgium requires a belgacom phoneline too (min.
6eur/month) except scarlet.be that has phoneline included in their
all-in 'One' package. Scarlet only started recently with their 'One'
offer and they kinda got too many people joining causing mass technical
issues. They are working on it - but I wouldn't take it right now if I
were you.
