teranews.com (one time fee) and bubbanews.com, both limited to 50MB per day
(credit card needed);
biggulp.readfreenews.net, slow connection, sometimes limit per user group
reached;
most commercial servers have a one time free trial, e.g. easynews.com max
1GB/3 days (credit card needed).

I wonder where you can find a free newsserver with the same level of
completion as the one from uunet.

But, first of all, you should use read.news.be.uu.net. Secondly, if you
want to leech use multiple (up to 4) connections. And if that's not okay
yet, yell.
