yum error centos 5.4

Ik wil op een schone centos 5.4 bak directadmin installen.
Nu heeft deze onder ander gcc nodig.
Als ik yum install gcc doe dan geeft die aan:
yum install gcc
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/yum", line 28, in ?
import yummain
ImportError: No module named yummain

Google heeft helaas voor mij nog geen oplossing.
Iemand de juiste oplossing?

Yum clean all geeft namelijk de zelfde error

Voer je hem wel als root uit?

Voer hem wel uit als root.
IChosting kijkt nu even voor mij als root

Zag uit naar een incomplete installatie van Yum.
Heb hem opnieuw geinstalleerd via RPM en nu werkt ie goed.
