Windows 2003 CPU low voltage enabled.
Wij huren een intel server bij een duitse partij. Helaas hebben zij de power settings van de CPU niet op max gezet in de BIOS. Hierdoor lagged de CPU en het maximale aantal MHZ is niet direct toegankelijk.

Nu zou ik graag in windows server 2003 dit zelf willen verhogen. Is dit mogelijk?
Zelf heb ik op google het volgende gevonden. Heeft dit enig nut?



- Optie 1 -
When pstates.vbs is run from a command prompt, the script presents output that is similar to that shown in Figure 1. This example shows two processors in the system, each having two performance states. The highest performance state is the 100-percent state, and the lowest performance state will run the processor at 93 percent of the maximum processor frequency.

- Optie 2-
On the Power Options Properties dialog box, the Power Schemes tab, select Server Balanced Processor Power and Performance from the drop-down list.

Normaal gezien switcht een CPU tussen powerstates in enkele cycles, dus het lijkt mij op het eerste zicht raar dat dat zorgt voor lag.

Beide opties komen op hetzelfde neer, de S state veranderen. Derde optie is een tool als speedswitchxp, normaal gemaakt voor laptops maar ze zijn hyperefficient geschreven dus ze nemen niks qua resources.
