All 2950's take Gbics and not SFP's. next question is, is it Multi mode SX (Normally Orange patch cable) or single mode? LX/LH (normally Yellow patch cable)

What are the distances?

Multimode up to
300 meter = 10GB = 10Gbase-SR
500 - 600 meter = 1GB = 1000base-SX
2km = 100MB = 100base-FX

Single mode up to
5KM = 1GB 1000Base-LX
10km = 1Gb 1000Base-LX/LH
70km = 1Gb 1000base-ZX

Gbic = SC connector
SFP = LC connector

for a 2950 Gbic you require
