Hallo

Ik ben al enige tijd bezig met een cod2 server bezig, hij draait al tijden met vallen en opstaan. Ik heb al bij een hard disk swap debian erop nieuw opgedaan, versie 4.0 overigens.

De problemen zijn als volgt, op een willekeurig moment dat er mensen aan het spelen zijn, crashed de gameserver, connection interrupted. Ik ga dan direct naar me webmin en die draait nog, server zelf draait dus nog.

Process list, de ene keer staat de game er nog, hangt die dus. De andere keer is die weg. In me gameserver logs heb ik geen (runtime) errors.

Ik draai me server via de command shell van webmin met een startscript genaamd startcod.sh. Hierin staat de lijn: ./cod_lnxded ... & (op ... staat nog meer )

Ik heb al meermalen de cod_lnxded vervangen, reconfiged, bestanden opnieuw geupload. Ik kom er niet achter wat er fout gaat.
Hij heeft zelfs afgelopen week perfect gedraaid, maar vandaag weer het euvel.

Zou het hardware related kunnen zijn?

Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee?

Ik heb vorige keer de CHMOD op cod2_lnxded aangepast naar 777 en dat werkte. Misschien het proberen waard.

Lastig te beoordelen, maar als je de logs op z´n uitgebreidst zet moet je toch iets kunnen vinden. Verder zou ik de game in een screen draaien zodat je misschien nog het een en ander kan zien zodra de server gecrashed is.

Dit komt uit de log, hier is de server net opgestart. Als de server dus hangt, krijgt iedereen connection interrupt. Alles is dan dood. Dit gebeurt gewoon eenmaal per dag op steeds weer andere tijden.

Er missen hier en daar wat spaties volgensmij, dat komt door het kopieeren.


Als iemand bereid is te helpen, graag, het is ook mogelijk even een limited user account aan te maken zodat iemand even alles kan inzien.

Dit is als ik de server opstart. Ik gebruik geen ssh. Start via webmin me startcod.sh bestand. Dat moet ook kunnen toch? Ben nog niet zo bekend met linux. ssh niet eens geinstalleerd volgensmij.

Misschien een hele domme, maar cod_lnxded = voor cod1 en cod2_lnxded = voor cod2, je hebt in ieder geval voor Call of Duty 1 neergezet?

Ik start cod2_lnxded versie 1.3. Cod1 heb ik op nooit gedraaid.

Zou het kunnen dat de oorzaak van alles is dat er een mogelijke verkeerde library was geinstalleerd?

gcc 4.1, terwijl er in de readme van cod2 aangeraden word te werken met 3.3.6.

3.4 zou niet compatible zijn.

voor de installatie was ook cpp 3.3 nodig.

Ok, ik heb zoals hierboven vermeld gcc libs geupdate, eigenlijk gedowngrade.

Nog steeds een crash, dit keer vanochtend.

Nu staat er al enkele dagen een nieuwe server die de huidige gaat vervangen, maar nu sta ik voor een dilemma, hoe los ik op de nieuwe het probleem op dat op de oude aan de gang is. Ik heb al een kale debian 4.0 install gedaan, webmin, ssh en gcc. Zijn er dingen die ik vergeet???

Nog steeds een crash, dit keer vanochtend.

Nu staat er al enkele dagen een nieuwe server die de huidige gaat vervangen, maar nu sta ik voor een dilemma, hoe los ik op de nieuwe het probleem op dat op de oude aan de gang is. Ik heb al een kale debian 4.0 install gedaan, webmin, ssh en gcc. Zijn er dingen die ik vergeet???

Volgens mij vergeet je een package. Daarbij vind ik: Couldn't resolve address: cod2master.com - zorgelijk. Indien je wilt dat ik per SSH even inlog even alles nakijk hoor ik dit graag per email: nick [@] sorcer.nl

Ik ben erachter gekomen dat zodra de server gecrashed is, en ik kijk bij files and connection in webmin, er staat: dev/pts/0 (deleted), terwijl er deze niet deleted zijn als de server nog draait.

Weet iemand wat de functie van die bestanden is? Hoe kan ik het probleem oplossen?
