Onderwerp: Company website hosting

My Dutch isnt amazing so I'll write it in English, hope thats not a problem.

My company currently hosts its own websites and we would like them hosted externally. This is what we have:


6 websites in different languages all with the company name and the following extensions - .com .fr .nl .de .es and .co.uk (so its 1 website per domain)

PDF files which customers and other people may download from us.

700MB data - This is all 6 sites + pdf files (this will increase)

HTTP and HTTPS pages with customer logins


We would also like the ability to easily upload changes to the website. Is this something that a company here could host? If so, how much would this cost?

I take it is an existing website, right? Is it running on some kind of content management or by uploading you mean FTP access? If it is running on a CMS, do you happen to know in what language it has been programmed in? Or the client pages for that matter.

Do you need us to transfer the domains as well?

By 700MB data, do you mean storage or monthly transfer? If this is unsure, do you have any estimates of visitors and/or traffic?

And the final question, do you happen to know what SSL certificate you are using at the moment? If not, feel free to contact me and I will gladly look it up for you. This ensures no unwanted glitches occur (for instance if your current certificate supports mobile SSL and the new one does not).

The websites are existing and already in use. They are very standard HTML sites with some CSS scripts and the site was designed with Dreamweaver. Currently there is an IIS server hosting these sites.

The 700MB is the total size of all the sites combined including all the pdf's we host for people to download from our server. I'm not sure how much bandwidth we use, but I cant imagine its alot.

It seems that the partner portal is made in ASP, which of course would be the reason for IIS, which results in Windows hosting companies :-) Unfortunately we do not offer those services. HTML would be no problem of course, but we can't support your portal. At least not on our shared platform, only on unmanaged servers, which I guess would not be what you are looking for at the moment.

About the SSL certificate, I couldn't find any existing ones in my quick look, but depending on the content of your portal, I would go for a basic Extended Validation certificate. If it's just basic information sharing (without any mission critical information), a more inexpensive certificate may be sufficient too. Partially depends on your budget of course.

Bandwidth seems to be less important, I totally agree with you. Although the PDF files may cause some extra traffic at times, it shouldn't be a lot.

Shame you cant provide a managed service for Windows sites really but I can understand why Thanks anyways for your help!
