Hi and good evening from Finland.

We are a bunch of guys from a little i-gaming group.

I´m looking for a company from NL, where we could rent a dedicated server for gaming, and hosting our website etc.

Some specs we require from server.

* Dualcore with enough cpu power to run atleast 3-4 gameservers + webserver
* 2-4 GB RAM
* 160 - 250 GB HD
* 100 or 1000 mbit/s-port with 2-3 TB traffic/month.

Those are not exact specs we want. Anything similar or close is also fine.

Since it´s a server mostly for gaming, packet loss & pings are usually major issues, so reliable network is also very important.

You should run your webserver separate from the games.

1000 mbit is not needed for games or just a small website(s)

Also I'm wondering why you want a gameserver in NL, when you're from sweden, you'd have much better pings when running the server nearby your location.

Well.. we dont have much traffic on our website, so i thought we can atleast try to run it from the same server with gameservers.. if it´s coming to a problem we can always rent some webspace or vps for the websites..

100/1000 mbit ports were just suggestions... i think 100 is fine.

´bout the location... Sure swe or fin server is best for us, but we play in some gaming leagues and opponents are usually from middle-europe, or uk, fra, swe etc, so NL as a location is usually good for all teams around EU. (equal pings and not much packett loss) I can assure you that it´s extremely hard to get opponents from mid-EU to come to a Scandinavian servers.

What games do you want to run and how many slots? So we can look for the right CPU (for example is a AMD X2 64 4200+ enough or do you need a better CPU?).

Do you want a certain operating system (some games require certain operating systems)?

At first we are going to run cod4 (14 slots) , cod2 (12 slots) and FarCry (18 slots) servers.

When linux binaries for Crysis comes out, we are going to replace our far cry server with crysis server (maybe 20 slots)., and later when FarCry2 comes out we are going to put up server for it.

Cod4 and Cod2 servers will be private servers, Crysis and Farcry servers are for public.

I think we need better cpu than x2 4200.

As OS we were thinking that Fedora core 6 or 7 should be fine.

Will a E6550 do? Also, how much traffic do you need?

E6550 should be fine.. Traffic = 2-3 TB /month, as said in first post.
