Description:

Ocom is a global internet services provider. For one of our companies, LeaseWeb Global Services, We are looking for a Hosting Engineer Cloud.

Are you looking for a hosting position where you can work with lots of different technologies, where your actions have major impact but you also clearly see the result of your work? Then the position of Hosting Engineer at LeaseWeb could well be the next step in your career!

Together with your colleagues from the Hosting department, you will be responsible for LeaseWeb’s worldwide cloud hosting and underlying storage platforms. This means more than just monitoring the systems; we also find new solutions and then test, build and maintain them ourselves. As Hosting Engineer, you will be working in a broad position in a DevOpstype style where you also work intensively together with other departments such as software development or networking.

The HOSD department administers Cloud hypervisor and storage infrastructures for thousands of customers and some big international brands. The platforms are part of the LeaseWeb infrastructure with a network capacity of 4 TBps. This means that a SYN attack on our platforms can be a major challenge! Are you able to keep the services of our customers online?

We find solutions and new ideas by having open discussions with the team on the work floor with everyone contributing until we reach the right decision. This can also lead to projects that are continued in a more structural manner, such as offering the total cloud environment in our "infrastructure as code" environment. If you can find everything using Google obviously that is very useful but what we really need is someone who can convert the information found into the right solution for the problem.

As Hosting Engineer, you have a huge responsibility that is not just limited to office hours. Our business is 24/7 and you will have regular Engineer on Duty (EOD) shifts. Our monitoring system gives a warning if something is wrong but then it is up to you to find the right solution; the impact of your actions is huge.

Professionals from all over the world work at LeaseWeb. All these different nationalities and backgrounds make it an interesting place to work. Our colleagues describe the work atmosphere with the following keywords: freedom, room for development, fun, relaxed atmosphere and we work hard. There are many possibilities for personal development and you choose which challenge you want to take up.
