Hey all

I am getting a lot of attacks on my W2003 Server.

MS_RPC_DCOM_Bufferovervlow
MS_RPC_DCOM_Heap Bo

Can any one tell me what kind of attacks the are.
And what i can do about it so i dont get the attacks!

These vulnerabilities are used by many worms such as Blaster. In all likelihood, you are not being targeted specifically; they are just scanning random addresses vigorously.

There is no way to stop getting these attacks*, but on a patched system they are completely harmless.

* = You could email abuse@<theprovider> to inform them of the compromised machine. I have stopped doing that for automated scans, because there are already many automated systems that send out auto-LARTs. So when a compromised system starts scanning, the provider most likely already knows about the problem.
